Coincidentally all hosts won their games. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.
The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Isidro Metapan as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Isidro Metapan defeated 9th ranked Halcones at home 104-97. Isidro Metapan made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Isidro Metapan made 9 blocks. It was a great evening for American Chris Blake (195-88, college: Detroit Mercy) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 9 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Cuban Oreste Torres (204-87) helped adding 24 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Marcus Faison (196-94, college: Salem St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 16 rebounds and 4 assists. Isidro Metapan (11-2) have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Defending champion Halcones keep the ninth place with ten games lost. Halcones will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path. Isidro Metapan will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Aguila in San Miguel.
Fourth ranked Brujos Izalco (9-4) crushed at home 6th ranked Santa Ana (5-8) by 35 points 87-52, which is the biggest margin this round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Santa Ana. It was a quality performance for Vincentian center Akeme Smart (218-91, college: McCook CC) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 20 rebounds. JaCarre Crockett accounted for 24 points and 8 rebounds. Nicaraguan forward Dalton Cacho (190-93) came up with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks for Santa Ana in the defeat. Santa Ana's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Brujos Izalco moved-up to third place. Santa Ana at the other side keeps the sixth position with eight games lost. Brujos Izalco will play against league's second-placed Santa Tecla on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Santa Ana will play against Cojute (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
In the last game of round 11 bottom-ranked 11 Lobos were destroyed by San Salvador on the opponent's court 116-93.

Brujos Izalco forced 19 Santa Ana turnovers and outrebounded them 55-26 including a 38-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brujos Izalco brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Very expected game when 10th ranked 11 Lobos (2-10) were crushed on the road by fifth ranked San Salvador (8-5) 116-93. San Salvador players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward James Milton (204-92, college: Stevenson) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 18 rebounds and 8 assists (on 14-of-17 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Quincy Scates (198-89, college: Tenn Wesleyan) accounted for 30 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four San Salvador players scored in double figures. American forward Patrick Wrencher (201-95, college: St.Francis, PA) came up with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists and Venezuelan forward Darwin Jaramillo (192-86) added 23 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for 11 Lobos in the defeat. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for San Salvador. They maintain fifth place with 8-5 record. 11 Lobos lost their ninth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. San Salvador will play against higher ranked Quezaltepeque (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. 11 Lobos will play against Aguila (#7) and hope to get back on the winning track.
